Malana has been popular as it is on a very pop trek route. There is nothing to be surprised about it and all your conclusions are true. They may even be  high altitude brahmins like those in Mukhba of gangotri or Yamnotri villages ...Chitkul usha temple sangla..etc....who believe in sanctity and ''touch me not i have bathed ready for puja ''    attitude very common all over india.. very much indians as they worship renuka and jamdagni rishi which I worship as my kul devta  as a maharashtrian brahmin!1 I have found Parshuram has his abode in all corners of india from Pasighat from where river lohit enters india at east to kashmir to kanyakumari konkan which he reclaimed as jamdagnis' son..i have trekked to thaan village of Jamdagniji ..above barkot yamnotri and ahead is sarnaual of renuka ji..isolation may be due to economic gains from illegal guilt of charas cultivation..saptarishis are found all over the sub continent proving one cultural land mass since ages..

Ushasuryamani,

Thank you ma'am for the visit and comment. Yes, I use to look for off-beat places and mostly it used to be mountains. But in the same breath I must tell you that this place is no 'secret' and I chanced upon it during the trek which is undertaken by hundreds of people every summer. You can read more about it in my earlier post titled "A Himalayan Experience".

That was ery enchanting !! God knows how you ferret out these  unique places !! Near Thiruvannamalai there is a place Padaveedu where there is a Temple for Renuks Devi. heard that years and years back there was a tsunami and this place vanished under sands and had been dug up again. There are more Temples for renuka devi elsewhere too
Anyway thanks for the skit.. pretty intriguing...wish could visit te same..
